こうした状況をうけて文部科学省は昨年度、それまで夏ごろに行われていた教員採用試験の1次試験を6月中旬に前倒しするよう求め、今年度はさらに前倒しして5月11日を目安に行うよう要請しています。

教員の養成制度に詳しい東京学芸大学の岩田康之教授は、国からのさらなる採用試験の前倒しの要請に応じた自治体が一部にとどまったことについて「これまで試験日程を早めても、うまくいかなかった自治体や混乱が生じた自治体があり、効果がないと判断したところが多いのではないか」と分析しています。

教職員組合の調査で全国の公立学校では、去年少なくとも4700人以上の教員が不足しているとされています。
