When the ama female diver rode on the sharks back, the shark swam very fast.

The ama almost fell, so she stabbed her tool for collecting shells into the sharks back.

And the ama was able to swim back to the shore.

お地蔵さんの
所に
行きました。
After the amas health improved, she went to the Jizo statue as usual.

刺したあとがありました。
The Jizo statue was lying down, and there were marks of tools being stabbed into its back.

お地蔵さんだったとわかりました。
The ama female diver realized that the shark was actually a Jizo statue.

大切にしました。
Ama valued the Jizo statues more.

人も「
サメの
お地蔵さん」と
呼んで
大切にしました。
The villagers also cherished it, calling it the Shark Jizo.
