Prime Minister Ishiba and Minister for Economic Revitalization Akazawa, who participated in the Japan-U.S. negotiations last week, will attend the intensive deliberations of the House of Councillors Budget Committee.

In this context, discussions are expected to be held on the content of the initial negotiations, responses for the next ministerial negotiations, the approach to opening the agricultural market, and the burden of Japans security, which President Trump has expressed dissatisfaction with.

In addition, measures to curb the prices of gasoline, electricity, and gas are also expected to be discussed.

Following this, in the afternoon, former Secretary-General of the House of Councillors, Mr. Seko, a former leader of the Abe faction, will be summoned as a witness regarding the Liberal Democratic Party factions political funding issues.

In this context, lawmakers from both the ruling and opposition parties are set to question the circumstances under which inappropriate reimbursements from factions were resumed after the executive meeting in August three years ago, which Mr. Seko also attended.
