US scientist breaks record for 100 days underwater

A Florida scientist calling himself ’Dr. Deep Sea’ has set a new world record for living in an underwater hotel for 100 days.
米海軍出身で南フロリダ大学准教授のジョセフ・ディトゥリ博士（５５）は３月１日から、同州キーラーゴ島沖の深さ約６．７メートルに建つ全米唯一の水中ホテル、ジュールズ・アンダーシー・ロッジに滞在します
Dr. Joseph Dituri, 55, a former U.S. Navy graduate and associate professor at the University of South Florida, began operating the Jules Undersea Lodge, the only underwater hotel in the U.S., built at a depth of about 6.7 meters off the coast of Key Largo, Florida, on March 1. stay in
100 days later, on the 9th, he returned to land safely.

This is part of a project conducted by the Marine Resources Development Foundation, which is based on the island, for the purpose of researching ocean conservation and the effects of water pressure on the human body.

Dr. Dituri said he lost about 1.3 centimeters in height during his stay.
