Make it easier to work on the Shinkansen

ＪＲ東日本ひがしにほんは１日ついたちから、新幹線しんかんせんの車両しゃりょうの中なかで仕事しごとをしやすくする「新幹線しんかんせんオフィス」という実験じっけんを、東北新幹線とうほくしんかんせんで始はじめました

From the 1st, JR East started an experiment called ”Shinkansen Office” on the Tohoku Shinkansen to make it easier to work in Shinkansen trains.

実験じっけんでは、新幹線しんかんせんの自分じぶんの席せきで電話でんわをかけたり、パソコンとインターネットを使つかって会議かいぎをしたりすることができます

In this experiment, you can make a phone call at your seat on the Shinkansen or have a meeting using your computer and the Internet.

特別とくべつなスピーカーから音おとを出だして、話はなしが周まわりの人ひとに聞きこえないようにします

The sound comes from a special speaker so that people around you can’t hear you

トンネルを通とおるときでもインターネットができるように、Ｗｉ－Ｆｉのルーターを無料むりょうで借かりることができます

You can rent a Wi-Fi router for free so that you can connect to the Internet even when you go through a tunnel.

ほかの新幹線しんかんせんと同おなじ料金りょうきんで乗のることができます

You can ride at the same rate as other Shinkansen trains

乗のった人ひとは「これからは新幹線しんかんせんの中なかでも気持きもちよく仕事しごとができそうです」と話はなしていました

A person who got on the train said, ”I think I can work comfortably on the Shinkansen from now on.”

ＪＲ東日本ひがしにほんでは、新あたらしいコロナウイルスのため、去年きょねん１２月がつに新幹線しんかんせんに乗のった人ひとが前まえの年としの４０％ぐらいになりました

In the JR East, due to the new coronavirus, the people who got on the Shinkansen last December were down by about 40% from the previous year.

A person from JR East said, ”I think that more people will want to use the Shinkansen like this because they will be working more and more outside the company.”

You can work comfortably on bullet trains too.

On the first day of the month, JR East rolled out an experiment called ”Bullet Train Office”, on the Tohoku line which allows passengers to conveniently work in carriages.

実験じっけんでは、新幹線しんかんせんの自分じぶんの席せきで電話でんわをかけたり、パソコンとインターネットを使つかって会議かいぎをしたりすることができます

During the trial, passengers are able to take phone calls and use their laptop and internet to attend meetings.

Surrounding passengers are not disturbed by noise as sound comes out of unique speakers.

Passengers are also able to hook up to free wifi routers to enable internet usage when passing through tunnels.
