地球温暖化ちきゅうおんだんかで海うみの水みずが上あがる　東京湾とうきょうわんの堤防ていぼうを高たかくする計画けいかく

国連こくれんのIPCCは、地球温暖化ちきゅうおんだんかが進すすむと、2100年ねんまでに海うみの水みずの高たかさが今いまより60cm上あがりそうだと言いっています

The UN’s IPCC(intergovernmental panel on climate change) says that if global warming keeps advancing, by 2100, the sea level will have risen 60cm compared to the present.

このため、低ひくい場所ばしょに海うみの水みずが入はいってくる危険きけんがあります

Because of this, there is the danger of the sea level reaching places that are at a low (altitude).

東京都とうきょうとには今いま、東京湾とうきょうわんから水みずが入はいってこないようにする堤防ていぼうがあります

Currently in the Tokyo centre, there is an embankment so that the water doesn’t enter from the Toyko Bay.

長ながさは60kmで、いちばん高たかい所ところは8mです

It has a length of 60km and its highest point is 8 metres high.

しかし将来しょうらい、海うみの水みずの高たかさが上あがったり、とても大おおきな台風たいふうが来きたりした場合ばあい、今いまの堤防ていぼうの高たかさでは十分じゅうぶんではないと考かんがえました

However, (the authorities) have considered that, in the future in the event of the sea levels rising and big typhoons coming, the current embankment’s height won’t be enough.

このため、半分はんぶんの30kmの堤防ていぼうを今いまより60cmから1.4m高たかくすることを計画けいかくしています

For this reason, they are planning to raise half of the 30km embankment from the current (height) by 60cm to 1.4m.

東京都とうきょうとは7日なのかから、住すんでいる人ひとたちにこの計画けいかくについて意見いけんを聞きいています

In the Tokyo Metropolitan area from the 7th onwards, they will be asking the people who live there for their opinion on this project.

そして、2023年度ねんどから堤防ていぼうの調査ちょうさをして、工事こうじを始はじめたいと考かんがえています
