According to a statement, the National Park Management Office has launched a campaign urging climbers not to throw away ramen soup into Mt. Halla or the rivers flowing through the mountain in order to preserve a ”clean environment.”

Hallasan, with an altitude of 1,947 meters, is the highest mountain in Korea and is located on Jeju Island, a popular tourist destination.

It is a trend among Korean mountaineers to bring their own ramen to eat.

山やまの周辺しゅうへんに掲かかげられた横断幕おうだんまくには、「きれいな漢拏山かんなさんを守まもり、ありのままの山やまを子孫しそんに受うけ継つごう」と書かかれている

A banner hung around the mountain reads, ``Let’s protect the beautiful Hallasan Mountain and pass it on to our descendants as it is.’’

There are also signs encouraging customers to limit the amount of ramen soup and water they use by half.

漢拏山かんなさんでは喫煙きつえん、食たべ物ものやごみの放置ほうち、無許可入山むきょかにゅうざんん、飲酒いんしゅが禁止きんしされており、違反者いはんしゃには最大さいだい２００万まんウォン（約やく２３万まん３０００円えん）の罰金ばっきんが科かされる

Smoking, leaving food and garbage behind, entering the mountain without permission, and drinking alcohol are prohibited on Mt. Hallasan, and violators will be subject to a fine of up to 2 million won (approximately 233,000 yen).

In a Facebook post, the National Park Management Office said, ``Ramen soup contains a large amount of salt.

このため渓流沿けいりゅうぞいに廃棄はいきすれば、汚染おせんされた水みずの中なかで昆虫こんちゅうが住すめなくなる」と説明せつめいした

Therefore, if we dispose of waste along mountain streams, insects will not be able to live in the contaminated water.’’
