Tea ceremony master Sen Genshitsu holding a tea ceremony on his 100th birthday
At Nishinomiya Shrine in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, Sen Genshitsu, who is famous for his tea ceremony, holds a tea ceremony for the gods on April 19th, his birthday.
千さんは今年、ちょうど100歳になりました
Sen just turned 100 years old this year.
About 340 Urasenke people from Kobe City and other places gathered for the ceremony.
千さんは1923年に生まれました
In 1964, he became the 15th head of the Urasenke family.
In 2002, Iemoto became the eldest son, but since then he has continued to promote the culture of tea and convey peace to the world.
For this reason, on the 20th, the country presented Chi with the Prime Minister’s Commendation.
