7-Eleven begins testing product availability with self-driving trucks
7-Eleven is starting an experiment using self-driving trucks to solve the problem of not having enough people to drive.
Experiments will be held from the first day of December onwards at Saitama Prefecture and Hyogo Prefecture.
It will transport items such as paper towels and pocket tissues in cups sold at store.
It will drive about 450km along the expressway.
A person sits in the driver's seat and takes care of driving when necessary.
We use earth-friendly biofuel made from edible oil to fuel our trucks.
Our company plans to conduct three experiments by the end of April next year.
