Court declares that the Hokkaido Tomari Nuclear Facility cannot operate.

北海道電力ほっかいどうでんりょくの原子力げんしりょく発電所はつでんしょ「泊原発とまりげんぱつ」が安全あんぜんかどうかについて、10年ねん以上いじょう裁判さいばんが続つづいていました

During the past 10 years the court has deliberated on whether the Hokkaido nuclear facility can operate safely.

5月がつ31日にち、札幌地方裁判所さっぽろちほうさいばんしょは「泊原発とまりげんぱつの1号機ごうきから3号機ごうきの全部ぜんぶを運転うんてんしてはいけません」と言いいました

On May 31 this year the Sapporo district court declared that units 1 through 3 of the Tomari nuclear facility cannot operate.

裁判所さいばんしょは「この原発げんぱつには、大おおきな地震じしんのときに高たかさ12mから13m以上いじょうの津波つなみが来くると考かんがえられます

The court thought that during a large earthquake, a tsunami larger than 12-13 m was likely.

しかし、原発げんぱつには津波つなみから守まもるための施設しせつがありません

Further, there were not sufficient protective mechanisms currently in place that would protect the facility against such a large tsunami.the court further stated that there were

津波つなみが来きたときの安全あんぜんの基準きじゅんに合あっていません」と言いいました

The court also stated that there were no safety mechanisms in place to provide adequate protection in the event of a tsunami.

福島県ふくしまけんの原発げんぱつでは2011年ねん、津波つなみが原因げんいんで事故じこが起おこりました

The Fukushima Prefecture nuclear plant distruction in 2011, shows the damage that can occur during a tsunami.

津波つなみの被害ひがいをなくすための準備じゅんびが十分じゅうぶんではないという理由りゆうで、原発げんぱつを運転うんてんしてはいけないと裁判所さいばんしょが言いったのは初はじめてです

The court concluded that in the absence of sufficient protective measures against a tsunami the facility cannot operate.

Tomari Nuclear Power Plant Court in Hokkaido says ”Don’t drive”

北海道電力ほっかいどうでんりょくの原子力げんしりょく発電所はつでんしょ「泊原発とまりげんぱつ」が安全あんぜんかどうかについて、10年ねん以上いじょう裁判さいばんが続つづいていました

The trial has continued for more than 10 years as to whether the nuclear power plant ”Tomari Nuclear Power Plant” of Hokkaido Electric Power Company is safe.

5月がつ31日にち、札幌地方裁判所さっぽろちほうさいばんしょは「泊原発とまりげんぱつの1号機ごうきから3号機ごうきの全部ぜんぶを運転うんてんしてはいけません」と言いいました

On May 31, the Sapporo District Court said, ”Don’t drive all of Tomari Nuclear Power Plant Units 1 to 3.”

裁判所さいばんしょは「この原発げんぱつには、大おおきな地震じしんのときに高たかさ12mから13m以上いじょうの津波つなみが来くると考かんがえられます

The court said, ”It is thought that a tsunami with a height of 12m to 13m or more will come to this nuclear power plant in the event of a large earthquake.

しかし、原発げんぱつには津波つなみから守まもるための施設しせつがありません

However, the nuclear power plant does not have facilities to protect it from the tsunami.

津波つなみが来きたときの安全あんぜんの基準きじゅんに合あっていません」と言いいました
