House of Representatives elections: The value of one person’s vote is more than double
衆議院の選挙が今月27日にあります
The election for the House of Representatives will be held on the 27th of this month.
日本を小さく分けた「小選挙区」では、投票する人たちが議員を1人選びます
In ”single-seat constituencies” that divide Japan into small districts, voters choose one member of parliament.
しかし、それぞれの「小選挙区」は人口が違います

There are places where a large number of people elect one member, and places where a small number of people elect one member.
いちばん多い「北海道3区」は46万人ぐらい、いちばん少ない「鳥取1区」は22万人ぐらいで1人の議員を選びます

国は、同じぐらいの人数にして、1人が投票する価値を同じぐらいにしたいと考えています
