文部科学省もんぶかがくしょうの研究所けんきゅうじょは毎年まいとし、世界せかいで発表はっぴょうされた科学かがくの論文ろんぶんを調しらべています

Every year, the research institute of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology examines scientific papers published around the world.

ほかの論文ろんぶんに多おおく引用いんようされると、いい研究けんきゅうのいい論文ろんぶんだと考かんがえられています

It is considered a good paper with good research if it is cited by many other papers

2021年ねんまでの3年ねんで多おおく引用いんようされた論文ろんぶんの数かずは、日本にっぽんは3700本ぽんぐらいでした

The number of highly cited papers in the three years until 2021 was around 3,700 in Japan.

世界せかいの中なかで1番ばんは中国ちゅうごくで、2番ばんがアメリカ、日本にっぽんは13番ばんでした

In the world, China was number one, the United States was number two, and Japan was number 13.

日本にっぽんは去年きょねんの12番ばんより低ひくくなって、1981年ねんに調しらべ始はじめてからいちばん低ひくくなりました

Japan is lower than last year’s 12th, and the lowest since the survey started in 1981.

1年ねんの平均へいきんの論文ろんぶんの数かずも、中国ちゅうごくが46万まん4000本ぼんぐらいで1番ばんでした

In terms of the average number of papers published in a year, China was number one with around 464,000.

日本にっぽんは去年きょねんと同おなじ5番ばんで、7万まん700本ぽんぐらいでした

研究所けんきゅうじょは「研究けんきゅうする時間じかんが足たりないことや、博士はくしになって研究けんきゅうを続つづける人ひとが少すくないことなどが、日本にっぽんの順番じゅんばんが低ひくくなった原因げんいんだと思おもいます」と話はなしています

The research institute says, ``I think that the lack of time for research and the fact that there are few people who continue research after becoming a doctor are the reasons why Japan’s order has fallen.’’
