Household electricity bills are likely to rise, starting with electricity used in June
On the 16th, the government told seven electricity companies that they could raise their electricity bills for households by 15% to 39% from last November.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Hokkaido Electric Power charges about 18,890 yen for a household that uses about 400 kWh of electricity per month.
Tohoku Electric Power is 16,660 yen, Tokyo Electric Power is 16,520 yen, Hokuriku Electric Power is 15,880 yen, Chugoku Electric Power is 16,810 yen, Shikoku Electric Power is 16,120 yen, and Okinawa Electric Power is about 19,400 yen.
It will be about 2,000 to 5,300 yen higher than last November.
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry says that the government is now paying for households so that the price will not be high.
However, the money will only be paid out until September this year, so household electricity bills may go up even more.
