Introducing the new mineral “Hokkaido stone” to everyone in the town where it was discovered
北海道愛別町で22日、町の人たちに「北海道石」を紹介する会がありました
On the 22nd in Aibetsu Town, Hokkaido, there was a meeting to introduce ”Hokkaido Stone” to the people of the town.
This stone was discovered in Aibetsu Town three years ago, and when exposed to ultraviolet light, it glows yellow or yellow-green.
A group that researches minerals around the world examined this stone and recognized it as a new mineral in January of this year.
And it was named ”Hokkaido stone”.

Many people came to see Hokkaido stones on the 22nd.
Then, while listening to the expert’s talk, they enjoyed watching the stones glow yellow-green by exposing them to ultraviolet rays.
見に来た子どもは「北海道石は愛別町の誇りです
