Two pistols used by Napoleon during his suicide attempt sold for 290 million yen; French government designates them as national treasures

Two pistols used by French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte when he attempted suicide were auctioned in Fontainebleau, France, on the 7th, and sold for 1.69 million euros (approximately 290 million yen).
The government wants to designate it as a national treasure and prevent it from leaving the country.
競売を主催した競売会社オズナ（Osenat）は落札者の身元を公表していない

競売に先立ち、仏文化省の担当機関がこの拳銃を国宝に指定し、国外への売却を禁じる措置を決定したことが6日付の官報で明らかになった
