Ambulances and police cars...Toyota and Daihatsu recall approximately 600,000 vehicles due to fuel pump problems

Toyota Motor Corporation and other companies have submitted a recall to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for approximately 600,000 vehicles, including ambulances, due to problems with fuel pumps.
Approximately 330,000 vehicles of 22 models, including Toyota Noah, Alphard, Land Cruiser, as well as ambulances and police cars, manufactured from July 2017 to January 2020, as well as ambulances and police cars, are subject to the recall, and from April 2018 to 2019. 270,000 units of six models, including Daihatsu Thor, manufactured in May 2018.
In either case, there is a problem with the fuel pump, and in the worst case scenario, there is a risk of the engine stalling while driving.
657 defects have been confirmed so far, but no accidents have occurred.
Both companies plan to replace parts for all affected vehicles.
