National Museum of Nature and Science ”More than 900 million yen in donations collected”
The National Museum of Nature and Science stores many animal and plant specimens and fossils.
However, electricity bills are rising and I don’t have enough money for storage etc.
For this reason, starting in August of this year, we have been collecting donations online with a goal of 100 million yen.
On the 6th of this month, the museum said, ``Approximately 920 million yen was raised from over 56,000 people.’’
Approximately 300 million yen of this amount will be used to send thank you items to those who donated.
The other money will be used to enlarge the building where the specimens will be stored and to collect more specimens.
