The first “teamLab” in the Middle East opens in Saudi Arabia, permanently installed in a historic area registered as a World Heritage Site

A large-scale museum by the art group ”teamLab”, which is gaining popularity in Japan, will open in Saudi Arabia for the first time in the Middle East.
TeamLab Borderless Jeddah, which will open on the 10th of next month, will be permanently located in the historic district of Jeddah in western Saudi Arabia, which is also registered as a World Heritage Site.
With a total floor space of 10,000 square meters, more than 80 art works that make full use of digital technology, such as ”Forest of Movement,” are connected without boundaries.
In addition to being able to walk around and make new discoveries on their own, visitors also have the theme of ”collaborative creation,” such as drawing large paintings with those around them.
In recent years, Saudi Arabia has been focusing on developing industries to replace oil resources under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed, and this museum, the first of its kind in the Middle East, is likely to become a centerpiece of the tourism industry.
