A crooked young man on a festival day

昔むかし、日本にほんでは1月がつ7日ち、3月がつ3日か、5月がつ5日か、7月がつ7日か、9月がつ9日かを「節句せっく」と言いって、お祝いいわいをしました

ある村むらでは、節句せっくの前まえにみんなで道みちの草くさを切きったり、橋はしを直なおしたりしました

ある年としの5月がつ5日にち、「牛うしの節句せっく」の日ひ、村むらの人ひとたちは牛うしを休やすませてお祝いいわいをしました

One year, on the 5th day of May, on the day of the Ushi-Ushi Festival, the people of the village let the Ushi-Ushi take a rest and celebrated.

しかし、若者わかものは牛うしを連つれて自分じぶんの田たんぼに行いき、牛うしに田たんぼを耕たがやさせました

村むらの人ひとが注意ちゅういしても、若者わかものは「自分じぶんのしたいことをする」と言いいました

その時とき、田たんぼから急きゅうに水みずが出でてきて、若者わかものと牛うしは田たんぼに沈しずんでしまいました

At that time, water suddenly came out of the rice field, and the young man and cow sank into the rice field.

村むらの人ひとたちはびっくりしましたが、若者わかものの父ちちは「これで分わかるだろう」と助たすけませんでした

牛うしは自分じぶんで泥水どろみずから出でてきて、しっぽに若者わかものがつかまっていました

この出来事できごとのあと、若者わかものの田たんぼは使つかえなくなりました

After this incident, the young man's rice fields became unusable.

若者わかものは他ほかの人ひとの田たんぼを手伝てつだって生活せいかつするようになりました

そして、もうヘソ曲まがりなことをやめて、村むらの行事ぎょうじにも参加さんかし、みんなと仲良なかよくなりました
