One month after the Taiwan earthquake, about 1,000 people are living in temporary housing in Hualien County near the epicenter

台湾たいわんの東部とうぶ沖おきでマグニチュード7.2の地震じしんが起おきてから3日にちで1か月かげつになりました

Three days marks one month since a magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred off the eastern coast of Taiwan.

In Hualien County, which is close to the epicenter of the earthquake, approximately 1,000 people have been forced to live in temporary housing, and the main industry, tourism, has been hit hard, making it a challenge to rebuild the lives of residents and revive the local economy.

4月つき3日にちに起おきた台湾たいわんの東部とうぶ沖おきを震源しんげんとするマグニチュード7.2の地震じしんでは、花はな蓮はちす県けんでこれまでに18人にんが死亡しぼうしたほか、2人にんが行方ゆくえ不明ふめいのままになっています

The magnitude 7.2 earthquake that struck off the eastern coast of Taiwan on April 3 has left 18 people dead and two missing in Hualien County.

4月つき23日にちには、マグニチュード6.0と6.3の地震じしんが6分ぶんの間かんに続つづけて起おきるなど、この1か月かげつで体からだに感かんじる地震じしんの数かずは1300回かいを超こえています

On April 23rd, earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.0 and 6.3 occurred consecutively within 6 minutes, and over 1,300 earthquakes have been felt in the past month.

台湾たいわんでは一連いちれんの地震じしんで多おおくの建物たてものが損壊そんかいし、傾かたむいたりしていて危険きけんと判断はんだんされた建物たてものの解体かいたい作業さぎょうが続つづけられています

In Taiwan, many buildings were damaged or tilted due to a series of earthquakes, and work continues to demolish buildings deemed dangerous.

このため、台湾たいわん当局とうきょくによりますと、花はな蓮はちす県けんだけでおよそ1000人にんが自宅じたくとは別べつの部屋へやを借かりたり、親戚しんせきのもとに身みを寄よせたりして仮住かりずまいを強しいられています

As a result, according to Taiwanese authorities, approximately 1,000 people in Hualien County alone have been forced to live temporarily, either renting rooms separate from their homes or staying with relatives.

また、台湾たいわん有数ゆうすうの景勝けいしょう地ちの太ふとし魯閣渓谷けいこくの周辺しゅうへんでは落石らくせきなどの被害ひがいが大おおきく、県けんの主力しゅりょく産業さんぎょうの観光かんこう業ぎょうが打撃だげきを受うけています

In addition, the area around Taroko Gorge, one of Taiwan’s most scenic spots, has suffered significant damage from falling rocks, and the tourism industry, the prefecture’s main industry, has been hit hard.

県内けんないの宿泊しゅくはく施設しせつでつくる団体だんたいの理事りじ長ちょうによりますと、4月つきの客室きゃくしつ稼働かどう率りつは、例年れいねん、平日へいじつで4割わり、休日きゅうじつで7割わりのところ、ことしは1割わりにも満みたなかったということです

According to the chairman of an organization formed by lodging facilities in the prefecture, the room occupancy rate in April was usually 40% on weekdays and 70% on holidays, but this year it was less than 10%.

台湾たいわん当局とうきょくは2日にちに公共こうきょう施設しせつの修復しゅうふくや建て替たてかえ、仮住かりずまいをしている人ひとたちへの支援しえん、観光かんこうをはじめとする産業さんぎょうの振興しんこうなど、総額そうがく285億おく5000万まん台湾たいわん元もと、日本にっぽん円えんにして1300億おく円えん余あまりの「震災しんさい復旧ふっきゅう再建さいけんプラン」を決定けっていしましたが、被災ひさい地ちのニーズをくみながら住民じゅうみんの生活せいかつ再建さいけんと地域ちいき経済けいざいの復興ふっこうを進すすめることが課題かだいとなっています

On the 2nd, Taiwanese authorities announced a total of 28.55 billion Taiwanese yuan, or over 130 billion yen in Japanese yen, for repairs and reconstruction of public facilities, support for people living in temporary housing, and promotion of tourism and other industries. The ”Earthquake Recovery and Reconstruction Plan” has been decided, but the challenge is to rebuild the lives of residents and rebuild the local economy while taking into account the needs of the disaster-stricken areas.
