Mountain forest fire in Nanyo, Yamagata, leaves one man with burns on his leg and the fire continues to spread
A fire burning through a forest occurred in Nanyo City, Yamagata Prefecture on the 4th, and the fire continued to spread overnight on the morning of the 5th, with firefighting and Self-Defense Forces continuing to extinguish the fire.

Additionally, although no damage to surrounding homes has been confirmed, according to Nanyo City, two people from one household who live about 400 meters away from the site voluntarily evacuated to a relative’s house on the night of the 4th.
