Thousands of people are evacuated after a dam collapses in Russia’s southern Orenburg region, authorities say

地元当局者じもととうきょくしゃは国営こくえいタス通信つうしんに対たいして、同州どうしゅうオルスク市しのダムが川かわの水流すいりゅうをおさえることができず、２カ所しょで決壊けっかいしたと明あきらかにしました

A local official told the state-run TASS news agency that a dam in the city of Orsk could not contain the river’s flow and collapsed in two places.

タス通信つうしんによれば、洪水こうずいのため、少すくなくとも３人にんが死亡しぼうしました

At least three people died due to flooding, TASS reported

当局とうきょくの報告ほうこくによれば、子こども１０１９人にんを含ふくむ４２０８人にんが避難ひなんしたほか、８万まん２２００人にんを収容しゅうようする４９５カ所しょの一時的いちじてきな宿泊施設しゅくはくしせつの準備じゅんびが進すすめられています

Officials report that 4,208 people, including 1,019 children, have been evacuated and preparations are underway for 495 temporary accommodation facilities for 82,200 people.

As of Tuesday morning, the river’s water level was nearly double the level the dam was designed to handle, local officials said.

地元じもとの検察けんさつによれば、ダムの決壊けっかいは施設しせつが適切てきせつに保守管理ほしゅかんりされていなかったために発生はっせいしました

According to local prosecutors, the dam failure occurred because the facility was not properly maintained
