日本にっぽんで新あたらしい「属ぞく」の植物しょくぶつが見みつかった

A new genus of plants has been discovered in Japan.

神戸大学こうべだいがくの研究けんきゅうグループによると、2022年ねん、鹿児島県かごしまけんの大隅半島おおすみはんとうの山やまの中なかで、キノコのような植物しょくぶつが見みつかりました

According to a research group at Kobe University, a mushroom-like plant was discovered in the mountains of the Osumi Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture in 2022.

植物しょくぶつには、1.5cmぐらいの変かわった花はなが咲さいていました

The plant had a strange flower about 1.5 cm in size.

光合成こうごうせいをしない珍めずらしい植物しょくぶつの「タヌキノショクダイ」に似にていました

It resembled the rare plant ``Raccoon Shokudai’’ that does not photosynthesize.

しかしよく調しらべると、花はなの形かたちやDNAなどが大おおきく違ちがっていました

However, upon closer inspection, we found that the flower shape and DNA were significantly different.

このため、この植物しょくぶつは新あたらしい「種しゅ」であることがわかりました

And not only that, but we also discovered something new in the ``genus,’’ which is the level above ``species’’ in plant classification.

そして、それだけではなくて植物しょくぶつの分類ぶんるいで「種しゅ」の上うえのレベルの「属ぞく」でも新あたらしいことがわかりました

A new genus of plants had not been discovered in Japan for about 100 years.

新あたらしい「属ぞく」の植物しょくぶつは、日本にっぽんでは100年ねんぐらい見みつかっていませんでした

The research group named the plant ``Mujinanoshokudai.’’

研究けんきゅうグループは植物しょくぶつに「ムジナノショクダイ」という名前なまえをつけました

Professor Suetsugu, a member of the group, said, ``This is a wonderful event that will go down in history.’’

グループの末次すえつぐ教授きょうじゅは「歴史れきしに残のこるすばらしいことです」と話はなしました
