President Trump announces large changes for the 2027 defence budget.
President Donald Trump is considering spending $1.5 trillion on the 2027 American defence budget.
That is over 50% more than the 2026 defence budget.
If this budget is decided on, America's defence budget will become the highest up to now.
President Trump announced the idea on a social media site called Truth Social.
He said "with this large amount of money, America can create a very strong military".
He also said this can be funded with the revenue from customs duties.
President Trump said, "The current world is very dangerous," and thinks, "this large defence budget is necessary."
Also, using the customs revenue, the money can be distributed to people with medium income in America.
However, as of now, there are no concrete plans for that.
