More classes will be canceled due to the new coronavirus and influenza
The Japan School Health Association is investigating classes at nursery schools, kindergartens, and schools that have been closed due to the spread of the disease.
On August 25, when the second term began in many schools, there were 11 classes due to the new coronavirus and 1 class due to influenza.
On September 8th, the number of new coronavirus cases increased to 515 and the number of influenza cases increased to 186.
According to a pediatric hospital in Tokyo, in mid-August, about 30% of children with fever had the new coronavirus and about 10% had influenza.
Recently, the percentage of influenza has been increasing, with both rates being around 20%.
A doctor at this hospital said, ``Influenza usually spreads in the winter.
This year, people have been infected since August, so it’s different than usual.
