Swiss bar fire kills many children
A fire broke out at a bar in a Swiss ski resort on January 1st.
40 people died and over 100 were injured.
On the 4th, police announced that among those killed were children aged 14 and 15.
The issue is whether the bar properly checked the ages of those entering.
Swiss law allows the sale of wine and beer to anyone over the age of 16.
However, one cannot sell you strong alcoholic beverages such as whiskey unless you are 18 years of age or older.
Police are investigating whether the bar's owner followed the law.
The French Foreign Ministry announced that eight people were French among those who died.
The Italian Foreign Ministry announced that six Italians were among those who died.
