Aquarium sea lions do calligraphy with high school students
At Aqua World Ibaraki Prefecture Oarai Aquarium, there are sea lions “Goemon” and “Purin” who are good at calligraphy.
At this aquarium, we held a show where sea lions and high school students did calligraphy together.
The sea lion wrote its 2024 goal ”Challenge” in kanji on a large piece of paper about 1m long and 3.6m wide.
I also wrote the word ”peace”
High school students danced with the music and wrote things like ``The ocean that connects the world.’’
The audience applauded loudly as the sea lion lifted its front leg and danced.
高校生は「練習は大変でしたが、みなさんが喜んでくれてよかったです」と話しました
A high school student said, ``Practice was tough, but I’m glad everyone enjoyed it.’’
One person who was watching said, ``It was my first time seeing sea lion calligraphy and I was moved.’’
