A Vietnamese man was arrested for stealing 35 kg of rice at a supermarket in Adachi-ku, Tokyo.
The total amount of damage caused by the group of men is expected to reach about 800,000 yen.
Vietnamese national Chang Luong Hieu, 27, is suspected of stealing seven bags of five kilograms of rice, worth about 15,000 yen, at a supermarket in Adachi Ward in January this year in a collusion with his colleagues.
According to the investigators, Chan was suspected to have been instructed by a fellow man, and he loaded rice in a basket and carried it out of the store without going through the cash register.
The security camera showed a car driven by a friend escaping from the spot.
This supermarket has suffered similar damage at other branches, and the total damage has reached nearly 800,000 yen at 17 stores.
