The Third Jab after the Second COVID-19 Vaccine Shot

厚生労働省こうせいろうどうしょうは28日にち、新型しんがたコロナウイルスのワクチンについて専門家せんもんかに意見いけんを聞きく会議かいぎを開ひらきました

The Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare of Japan opened a hearing with experts on 28 October to discuss issues related to COVID-19 vaccine.

会議かいぎでは、アメリカでファイザーのワクチンを注射ちゅうしゃした人ひとについて調しらべた結果けっかの報告ほうこくがありました

At the hearing, a report about the research results on people who received American Pfizer jabs was presented.

２回かい目めの注射ちゅうしゃをしてから5か月げつ以上いじょう過すぎると、ウイルスがうつらない効果こうかがどう変かわるか調しらべました

The study aimed to find out the changes of the vaccine efficacy after 5 months or more have passed since the second jab.

16歳さいから44歳さいの人ひとは、89％だった効果こうかが39％に低ひくくなりました

For people between the ages of 16 and 44, the efficacy dropped from 89% to 39%.

45歳さいから64歳さいの人ひとは、87％だった効果こうかが50％になりました

For those between 45 and 64 years old, the efficacy also dropped by 37% to 50%.

65歳さい以上いじょうの人ひとは、80％だった効果こうかが43％になりました

Meanwhile, for people above the age of 65, the efficacy went down from 80% to 43%.

会議かいぎに出でた人ひとはみんな、2回かい目めが終おわった全部ぜんぶの人ひとに3回かい目めの注射ちゅうしゃをしたほうがいいという意見いけんになりました

The hearing resulted a new insight. That is, all who have received the second shot are recommended to get the third jab.

厚生労働省こうせいろうどうしょうは、11月がつに会議かいぎを開ひらいて３回かい目めの注射ちゅうしゃをすることを決きめます

The Ministry of Health, Labor, and Manpower of Japan decided to arrange the third vaccination after the meeting in November.

計画けいかくでは、12月がつに病院びょういんで働はたらく人ひとから、3回かい目めの注射ちゅうしゃを始はじめます
