An original copy of the US Constitution has been actioned as historical literature for approximately 5 000 000 000 yen
On the 18th, at the New York-based auction house Sotheby’s, a first-edition copy has been put to action, and sold for about 5 000 000 000 yen
Since there are currently 13 such copies in existence, of which only 2 are in the hands of civilians, it is considered to have reached a new record for historical books.
The auctioned copy was purchased at an auction by the Goldman’s Real Estate Company for 165 000 dollars in 1998 and, after Mr. Goldman’s death, it has been auctioned by his wife in order to raise funds for her foundation
