2,000-year-old battlefield bugle found in England
A nearly 2,000-year-old Iron Age bugle has been found in Norfolk, England.
This trumpet is called a ”carnicus” and is a bronze instrument used by the Celts on the battlefield.
Carnicus was shaped like an animal’s head and was used to cheer up soldiers.
This discovery is of great importance to archaeologists
The trumpet was found during a search on private property, along with a bronze plate in the shape of a boar’s head and iron tools.
These artifacts are thought to be related to a Celtic tribe called the Iceni.
The Iceni are famous for their rebellion against the Roman Empire.
The excavation team carefully removed the fragile artifacts
Experts are currently working on preserving and researching it.
Carnicus can make a very loud sound and can also be played with other instruments
