Whiskey maker Demand expected to increase domestically and overseas Moves to strengthen business
Anticipating that demand for domestically produced whisky, as well as whiskey both domestically and internationally, will continue to grow, there is a growing movement among manufacturers to strengthen their businesses through new investments, such as increasing distillery equipment.

Western liquor maker Nikka Whiskey announced on the 5th that it will jointly invest in equipment to expand its production system with parent company Asahi Breweries.
Specifically, we will invest approximately 6 billion yen during this year, including building new barrel storage and stocking whiskey at three distilleries and factories in Hokkaido, Miyagi, and Tochigi prefectures.
The company expects the global market size, including domestically produced whiskey, to expand by 2% to 3% every year by 2040, and will continue capital investment from next year onward to increase annual whiskey sales in Japan and overseas. The plan is to increase the number four times as much as last year by 2040.
