The Robot Library Enjoying Books within Nature
福岡県みやこ町の田んぼの横に、木でできたかわいいロボットが立っています
Next to a field in Miyako, Fukuoka, a cute robot made out of wood is standing up.
Inside of its stomach, around 50 books, such as picture books, are inside.
Nearby, there also is a bench where families can enjoy reading books together.
Anyone can borrow the books at anytime.
ロボットの図書館を作ったのは山崎周作さんです
The one who made the robot library is Yamasaki Shūsaku.
For a long time, Mr. Yamasaki was working at a nearby library.
He has around 10,000 books at his house.
山崎さんは、その季節に子どもたちに読んでほしい本を選んでロボットに入れます
Mr. Yamasaki chooses books he wants kids to read for that season and puts it in the robot.
“When you’re sad and your heart becomes weak, I think that the stories inside the picture books will help you.
I want everyone to read them,” says Mr. Yamasaki.
子どもと一緒に来た人は「自然の中で本を読んであげることができて、すごくいいと思います」と話しました
A person who came together with their kid said, “it can give us a chance to read in nature, and I think that’s very nice.”
