A mask came out of what the sea turtle ate
Groups such as Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology have been investigating sea turtles in the sea of Iwate Prefecture for about 15 years.
The group found a mask on what the green turtle ate in the net last August.
 The mask is a non-woven mask with a length of 9 cm and a width of 14 cm, and has a string attached.
This is the first time that a non-woven mask has been found in what a sea turtle ate.
The group picking up garbage says that more masks have been thrown away on the beach since more people were infected with the new coronavirus.
A person from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology said, ”I think that the mask was mistaken for food because sea turtles drink anything in their mouths.
It’s important to clean up properly so that animals don’t eat. ”
