107 years after sinking, a British expedition ship was discovered off the coast of Antarctica

The ship ”Endurance” by polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, which sank off the coast of Antarctica more than 100 years ago, has recently been found on the ocean floor at a depth of 3008 meters.
Apparently, it retains its original appearance and is in good condition.
南極探検に使用され、１９１５年に沈んだ同船は、南極海の一部を構成するウェッデル海で見つかりました
Used for Antarctic expeditions and sunk in 1915, the ship was found in the Weddell Sea, which forms part of the Antarctic Ocean.

This discovery was made possible in collaboration with the Folkland Marine Heritage Foundation and the content platform ”History Hit,” co-founded by historian Dan Shaw.

”It’s by far the best wooden sunken ship I’ve ever seen,” Menson Bound, head of the exploration mission, said in a statement.
It sits comfortably on the seabed while standing upright.
It’s undamaged and in excellent condition. ”
