Alphabet increases sales and profits significantly
Alphabet, the parent company of Google in the US, has announced its financial results for January to March 2025.
Sales were $90.2 billion, 12% more than last year's same time
Net profit also rose 46% to $34.5 billion
Both were better than the experts expected.
Google's biggest business, search service, had sales of $50.7 billion, which was also exceeded expectations.
Additionally, sales of AI-based cloud services were $12.3 billion.
After the financial results announcement, Alphabet's stock price rose by around 5% in after-hours trading.
Additionally, the company announced a $70 billion share buyback and a 5% dividend increase
However, advertising revenue from Asian retailers may drop slightly
This is because the {rules} of US tariffs change.
However, experts believe this effect is small.
Alphabet's stock price has been the highest in two weeks recently, but has fallen 16% since the beginning of this year.
