ツイッターを買収したイーロン・マスク氏が休眠状態にあるアカウントの削除を始めたと発表しました。　
Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter, announced that he has begun deleting dormant accounts.
マスク氏は8日、自身のツイッターに「数年間、全く使用されていないアカウントを削除しているため、フォロワー数が減るかもしれない」と投稿しました。　
On the 8th, Musk posted on his Twitter page that he was deleting accounts that have not been used at all for several years, which may reduce the number of followers.
去年末に15億ほどの休眠アカウントを削除すると予告していて、それを実行に移した形です。　
At the end of last year, they announced that they were going to delete about 1.5 billion dormant accounts, and they have done so.
ユーザーがアカウントを使い続けるためには少なくとも30日に1回、ログインする必要があるということです。　
That means users must log in at least once within 30 days to continue using their account.
今回の対応は、抜本的なコスト削減の一環とみられます。　
The policy is seen as part of a drastic cost-cutting program.
元々、ツイッターは半年に1回はログインするよう推奨していて、2019年にも長期にわたって放置されたアカウントの削除に踏み切ろうとしましたが、ユーザーの批判を受けて取りやめていました。
Originally, Twitter recommended logging in once every six months, and in 2019, the company attempted to delete long-abandoned accounts, but canceled the move after user criticism.
