来月1日から始まる販売前の犬や猫へのマイクロチップの装着義務化について、山口環境大臣は、購入者が費用を負担するケースもあり得ると述べました。

来月1日から施行される改正動物愛護管理法では、ペットショップなどで販売される犬や猫に、飼い主などの情報を登録するマイクロチップの装着が義務付けられます。　
Under the Animal Welfare and Management Amendment Act, which goes into effect on the 1st of next month, dogs and cats sold in pet stores will be required to wear a microchip to register information such as their owner.
1万円程度の費用がかかりますが、誰が支払うかについては明記されていません。
