東日本大震災からまもなく12年、岩手県や福島県で行方不明者の捜索が行われました。　
午前10時すぎ、岩手県岩泉町で警察と海上保安庁、町による捜索が行われました。
ドローンが投入され、防波堤の裏など人が入りにくい場所を捜索しました。　
「どんなに小さな、ささいなことでも見つけ出すという気持ちで捜索しました」　
福島県いわき市では警察官30人が捜索に参加し、震災で行方が分からなくなっている人たちの手掛かりなどを探しました。　
捜索にあたったいわき中央警察署では、職員の約半数が震災後に採用された世代となっていて、警察官にとっても震災の記憶の伝承が課題となっています。
