17日、ギリシャの首都アテネから南東に30キロ近く離れたクバラスで山火事が発生しました。　
On the 17th, a forest fire broke out in Kuvarras, about 30 kilometers southeast of the Greek capital Athens.
消防車40台が出動し、消防士150人が消火にあたったほか、航空機11機を投入しましたが、炎は強風にあおられて広がっています。　
40 fire engines were dispatched, 150 firefighters worked to put out the fire and 11 planes were deployed, but the flames were blown by strong winds and spread.
火の手は住宅地に迫り、住民に避難命令が出されました。　
The fire approached the residential area, and an evacuation order was issued for residents.
ギリシャの日本大使館も現地の日本人などに対し、山火事の地域に近付かないよう注意喚起しています。　
The Japanese Embassy in Greece has also warned Japanese locals to stay away from the bushfire areas.
スイス南部のバレー州で発生した山火事は17日深夜まで燃え続け、警察が避難命令を出しました。　
A forest fire broke out in the canton of Valle, southern Switzerland, and continued to burn until midnight on the 17th, and the police issued an evacuation order.
WMO＝世界気象機関は地中海周辺諸国の熱波は8月まで続く可能性があり、今週、一段と強まる地域もあると警告しています。
WMO (World Meteorological Organization) has warned that heat waves in countries around the Mediterranean Sea could last until August and some areas will increase in temperature this week.
