At Harvard University in the United States, American students and others held a demonstration to protest measures such as the Trump administrations revocation of international student admissions, calling for the measures to be withdrawn on behalf of international students who fear negative consequences if they speak out.

The Trump administration in the United States has revoked Harvard Universitys certification to accept international students, citing reasons such as inciting violence and anti-Semitism on campus. International students currently enrolled are also required to transfer to other universities, or they will lose their eligibility to stay in the United States.

In response to this, on the 27th, a demonstration was held at Harvard University organized by student groups, where American students and others called for the withdrawal of the measure, saying things like, Harvard without international students is not Harvard.

There are about 6,800 international students enrolled at Harvard University, but many of them are afraid that participating in demonstrations might negatively affect their residency status and other aspects. At the event, statements from international students expressing concerns such as Im worried whether Ill be able to return to the university in the fall were read out on their behalf.

Additionally, regarding the Trump administrations directive to temporarily suspend new interviews for student visa applicants who wish to study at universities in the United States, a student who gave a speech criticized, Mr. Trump is investigating the social media of visa applicants and trying to exclude students who do not agree with his administration.

With graduation just around the corner, the only international student who gave a speech—a student from Sweden—said, I want to convey that if the university gives in to the demands of those in power, more demands will follow, so we must never give in.
