The Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a company employee on suspicion of habitual gambling, alleging that the individual repeatedly placed bets on online casinos and operated as an “affiliate” who promoted casino sites in exchange for compensation.
賭け金の総額は280億円に上り、カジノサイト側からおよそ700万円の報酬を受け取っていたとみて調べています。
The total amount wagered reached 28 billion yen, and it is believed that he received about 7 million yen in rewards from the casino site.
逮捕されたのは、福島県いわき市の会社員、蝶間林誠 容疑者（38）です。
The person arrested is Makoto Chomabayashi, a 38-year-old company employee from Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture.
警視庁によりますと、3年前からことしにかけて、カジノサイトにスマートフォンからアクセスし、合わせて9200万円を賭けたとして、常習賭博の疑いがもたれています。

容疑者はカジノサイトを宣伝して報酬を受け取る「アフィリエイター」として活動していたとみられ、「明鏡止水」というアカウント名でSNSにオンラインカジノで勝った画像を投稿していました。
The suspect is believed to have been working as an affiliate, promoting casino sites in exchange for rewards, and had been posting images of winnings from online casinos on social media under the account name Meikyo Shisui.
それを閲覧してサイトに誘導された人が賭けた金額のおよそ2％が報酬として支払われる仕組みで、サイト側からおよそ700万円を受け取っていたとみられています。

賭け金の総額は、警察が摘発した賭博事件の個人の賭け金としては、最も多い280億円に上りますが、収支は4000万円のマイナスだったということです。
