In the southern part of the Palestinian Gaza Strip, two brothers, aged 8 and 10, went out to collect firewood and were killed in an attack by an Israeli military drone.

The Israeli military regards these children as suspects who pose an imminent threat to the army, but for their families and local residents, this is a completely unacceptable claim.

On the morning of November 29th, Mr. Tamer Abu Assi, who was sitting in a wheelchair due to paralysis, was preparing breakfast when he noticed that they had run out of firewood. His two sons, 8-year-old Fadi and 10-year-old Juma, went outside to gather firewood.

However, the two did not return home, and the family received news from a neighbor that they had been attacked and killed by the Israeli military.

Abu Assi was preparing the table at the shelter while waiting for his children to come back, when suddenly a neighbor rushed in and told him that his two children had been killed in the attack.

When he saw the bodies, Abu Assi spoke through tears: I lifted the cloth and hugged my two children.

Juma had his head blown off and lost both arms.

Fadi had his right hand and left leg amputated.

According to family members, the two died in an attack by an Israeli drone in Bani Suheila, eastern Khan Yunis.

The Israeli military acknowledged the attack, explaining that two children crossed the golden line, behaved suspiciously, approached Israeli forces operating in the southern Gaza Strip, and were eliminated because they posed an imminent threat.

Bani Suheila is located on the eastern side of the Golden Road and belongs to the area occupied by Israel, but since there are hardly any clear signs on site, it is very difficult to recognize this boundary.

Since the ceasefire order took effect in October, Palestinians have still been frequently killed by the Israeli military near this invisible border, and the military still regards them as terrorists posing an imminent threat.

It has been seven weeks since the ceasefire came into effect, but the death toll in the Gaza Strip continues to rise.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death toll since October 7, 2023 has exceeded 70,000, and bodies continue to be discovered under the rubble.

Even after the ceasefire order, more than 600 bodies have been confirmed, and this number is expected to increase further.

The civil defense forces estimate that about 10,000 people are still trapped under the rubble.

Furthermore, since the ceasefire began, the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli military has exceeded 350.

Juma begged his father to sing his favorite song for him the day before he was killed.

Abu Assi wasn’t feeling well at the time, but promised, “Let’s go to the hospital together tomorrow.”
