The American investment fund Dalton Investments is a major shareholder of Fuji Televisions parent company, and has repeatedly demanded the company to review the new management structure presented by Fuji in response to a series of issues, leveraging its position as a major shareholder.

According to sources, amidst these developments, it has been revealed that the investment fund is coordinating to propose Yoshitaka Kitao, the president of the comprehensive financial group SBI Holdings, as an independent director candidate at the shareholders meeting of Fuji TVs parent company to be held in June.

Mr. Kitao was once involved in the reconciliation between Livedoor, led by Takafumi Horie, and Fuji Television during their fierce battle over the management rights of Nippon Broadcasting, which was once the largest shareholder of Fuji Television.

Regarding Fuji Television, it has been revealed that the eldest daughter of Mr. Yoshiaki Murakami from the former Murakami Fund has also become a shareholder of the parent company. This investment fund, which proposes Mr. Kitao as a director, may also collaborate with other shareholders in the future, and shareholder activities are likely to become more active towards the general meeting.
