Japanese Greetings
The morning greeting in Japanese is Ohayou or Ohayougozaimasu
Ohayougozaimasu can be used with everyone, but Ohayou isn't formal, so it can't be used for people older than you or with higher authority
At noon, it's konnichiwa
However, between these greetings, among friends, only Ohayou (gozaimasu) is used
On top of that, even in the afternoon many people use Ohayou(gozaimasu)
For normal people, the afternoon represents the end of the day, but for people who work in the afternoon, it's like the morning of their day
For example, people who do part-times in the afternoon use that greeting when meeting their coworkers for the first time that day
Even if it's afternoon, work starts from here, so it's like the beginning of the day
