20 years since the accident of a collision between an American nuclear submarine and a Japanese ship
On February 10, 2001, an American nuclear submarine collided with a ship at Uwajima Fisheries High School in Ehime Prefecture in the sea near Oahu, Hawaii.
The high school ship sank, killing nine students and teachers who were studying techniques for moving the ship.

It has been 20 years in 10 days since this accident.
In high school there was a prayer ceremony for those who died
At 8:43, when the accident happened, 260 people, including the family and students of the nine dead, prayed quietly, ringing the bell on the sunken ship nine times.
校長は「２０年が過ぎても、怒りや悲しい気持ちは消えません
The principal said, ”Even after 20 years, my anger and sad feelings will not disappear.
I strongly believe that we must not forget this accident. ”
A second year high school student who attended the ceremony said, ”It was an accident before I was born, so I learned about it after I entered high school.
I want a lot of people to know about the sad accident. ”
