Meta, which owns Facebook in the United States, announced on the 26th that its sales for the January-March quarter of this year increased by 3% year-on-year.
After three consecutive quarters of declining revenue, the tide reversed, far exceeding expectations by Wall Street analysts.

Shares of Meta surged 12% in after-hours trading following the earnings release.
Meta stocks have continued to perform strongly since CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced 2023 as the ’Year of Efficiency’.

User growth has been solid compared to recent quarters, with monthly users on Meta’s apps surpassing 3.8 billion, up 5% year-on-year, and Facebook’s daily users up 4%. over 2 billion people

Earnings fell nearly a quarter to $5.7 billion in the current quarter from a year earlier.
The health numbers for the core digital advertising business also fell 17% year-on-year.

Meta announced in November that it would cut 11,000 jobs, the largest single job cut in the company’s history.
In March, Zuckerberg announced an additional 10,000 job cuts.
In aggregate, the number of employees will be reduced by a quarter.
