Japanese News: 去年の交通事故　自転車事故の割合が今まででいちばん高い

去年きょねんの交通事故こうつうじこ　自転車じてんしゃ事故じこの割合わりあいが今いままででいちばん高たかい

According to the national police agency, this year in Japan the involvement of bicycles in traffic accidents counts 69,985 cases.

警察庁けいさつちょうによると、去年きょねん、日本にっぽんで自転車じてんしゃが関係かんけいしている交通事故こうつうじこは6万まん9985件けんありました

That is 23.3% of all trafgic incidents.

これは交通事故こうつうじこ全部ぜんぶの23.3%です

With the same method an investigation determined that since 2003 there has been an extremely high rate. (Of these accidents)

同おなじ方法ほうほうで調しらべ始はじめた2003年ねんからの間あいだで、最もっとも高たかい割合わりあいになりました

From 5 years ago to this year 2005 people died from incidents during their bike ride.

去年きょねんまでの5年ねんの間あいだに、自転車じてんしゃに乗のっていたときの事故じこで2005人にんが亡なくなりました

Amongst these, not less then half of the 1116 people died from head injuries.

このうち半分はんぶん以上いじょうの1116人にんが頭あたまのけがで亡なくなりました

96% of the people thay died from a head injury didn’t wear a helmet.

頭あたまのけがで亡なくなった人ひとの96％がヘルメットをかぶっていませんでした

It turns out that since April the people that ride bikes wear their helmets as much as possible.

4月がつから自転車じてんしゃに乗のる人ひとはヘルメットをできるだけかぶることになりました

The national police agency sais they need everyone to do things such as wearing their helmets, following traffic rules and to be careful.

警察庁けいさつちょうは、ヘルメットをかぶることや、交通こうつうのルールを守まもることなどに気きをつけてほしいと言いっています

The ratio of last year`s traffic accident bicycle accident has been the highest ever

警察庁けいさつちょうによると、去年きょねん、日本にっぽんで自転車じてんしゃが関係かんけいしている交通事故こうつうじこは6万まん9985件けんありました

According to the National Police Agency, there were 69,985 traffic accidents related to bicycles last year.

これは交通事故こうつうじこ全部ぜんぶの23.3%です

This is 23.3%of all traffic accidents

It was the highest percentage from 2003 when I started investigating in the same way.

去年きょねんまでの5年ねんの間あいだに、自転車じてんしゃに乗のっていたときの事故じこで2005人にんが亡なくなりました

2005 people died in an accident when riding a bicycle during the five years until last year.

このうち半分はんぶん以上いじょうの1116人にんが頭あたまのけがで亡なくなりました

More than half of these 1116 people died of a head injury.

頭あたまのけがで亡なくなった人ひとの96％がヘルメットをかぶっていませんでした

96 % of those who died in a head injury did not wear a helmet

4月がつから自転車じてんしゃに乗のる人ひとはヘルメットをできるだけかぶることになりました

From April, the person who rides a bicycle will wear a helmet as much as possible.

警察庁けいさつちょうは、ヘルメットをかぶることや、交通こうつうのルールを守まもることなどに気きをつけてほしいと言いっています

The National Police Agency says that you should be careful about wearing a helmet and following the rules of transportation.
