Fukushima Nuclear Reactor 1 Workers’ Deaths from Cancer Caused By Being Exposed to Radiation Acknowledged as a Work-Related Illness

東京とうきょう電力でんりょく福島ふくしま第だい一いち原子力げんしりょく発電はつでん所しょの事故じこで、放射線ほうしゃせん量りょうを測定そくていする業務ぎょうむなどにあたっていた50代だいの男性だんせい作業さぎょう員いんが肺はいがんを発症はっしょうして死亡しぼうし、厚生こうせい労働ろうどう省しょうは被ひばくによる労災ろうさいと認定にんていしました

From the Tokyo Power Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power generation accident, 50 male workers who did things measuring radiation doses had an outbreak of lung cancer and died, and Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare has called their exposure to radiation a work related injury and acknowledged it.

原発げんぱつ事故じこの収束しゅうそく作業さぎょうをめぐって、がんで死亡しぼうしたケースが労災ろうさいと認定にんていされたのは初はじめてです

This is the first time the cases of death from cancer concerning the nuclear reactor disaster accident’s clean-up workers have been recognized as work-related illnesses.

労災ろうさい認定にんていされたのは、福島ふくしま第だい一いち原発げんぱつの事故じこ後ご、放射線ほうしゃせん量りょうを測定そくていする業務ぎょうむなどにあたっていた東京とうきょう電力でんりょくの協力きょうりょく会社かいしゃの50代だいの男性だんせい作業さぎょう員いんです

Acknowledging that these are work-related illnesses is a collaboration of the 50 male Tokyo Power workers who did things like measure radiation doses after the Fukushima Reactor 1 accident.

厚生こうせい労働ろうどう省しょうによりますと、男性だんせいは事故じこ直後ちょくごから収束しゅうそく作業さぎょうの一環いっかんとして放射線ほうしゃせん量りょうの測定そくてい業務ぎょうむなどにあたり、その後そのごも３さん年ねん前まえまで働はたらいていましたが、肺はいがんを発症はっしょうして死亡しぼうしました

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare, the men who worked from immediately following the accident clean-up doing things like measuring radiation levels are thereafter being diagnosed with and dying of lung cancer.

厚生こうせい労働ろうどう省しょうは遺族いぞくの意向いこうとして死亡しぼうした時期じきなどを明あきらかにしていませんが、男性だんせいの被ひばく線量せんりょうは合あわせておよそ195ミリシーベルトに上のぼり、被ひばくによってがんを発症はっしょうした労災ろうさいだと先月せんげつ31日にちに認定にんていしました

The Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare has not clarified its intentions to the bereaved families of those who died during that time, but the men whose radiation exposure dose totalled over approximately 195 millisieverts who are diagnosed with cancer from exposure are acknowledged as of the 31st of last month.

福島ふくしま第だい一いち原発げんぱつでは、事故じこ以降いこう、これまでに４よん人にんの作業さぎょう員いんが白血病はっけつびょうや甲状腺こうじょうせんがんを発症はっしょうして労災ろうさいが認みとめられていますが、がんで死亡しぼうしたケースが労災ろうさいと認定にんていされたのは今回こんかいが初はじめてです

In Fukushima Reactor 1, immediately following the accident there were four workers with diseases like leukemia and thyroid cancer that were recognized as work-related illnesses but for the cases where people have died of cancer, thisis the first time they have been acknowledged as being work-related.
