A mechanism is applied that prevents electricity from being lost to heat when the cable is made of a special material and is cooled.
In this case, the cable is about 100 meters long, but cables of several kilometers have also been developed, and if introduced, it will not only reduce the number of substations that require huge costs, but will also lead to energy savings.
Officials estimate that this system can be introduced at about half the cost of maintaining a substation.
On top of that, he said, ``If you include the utilization of former substation sites, this is good research from a global perspective that will contribute to many people.’’
